Hay Everybody,

I've just gotten word that this years intervarsities will be on the 28th of february in kilternan. That gives us 3 weeks to train after Val ! All the major colleges compete with people coming from as far as Cork, Waterford and Belfast for the day. I presume there will be all the usual events i.e. Beginner and Advanced Skier Slaloms, All levels Snowboard Slalom and A freestyle comp.

Last year the levels were very mixed with anybody who can parallel ski competing in the advanced slalom and anyone who can turn in kilternan should do the board slalom. So no excuses , everybody should give it a go and help DCU Snowboarding win the title of best college back from all those non-snowboarding colleges!! (I'm allowed say that cuz now i snowboard too).

Ask anyone who was there last year, it's a great day out with a DJ & lots of beer drinking all day and a BBQ in the evening, last year the red bull girls were even there handing out free cans to keep us all going on our competitive buzz. I've also been told that there's a HUGE night out planned afterwards this year, which will be a nice chance for everyone from the trip reunite and party snowboard style once more!

You can come and watch or to compete so mark the date in your diary and get your game face on !

yeah come the intervarsities.. its bbq hamburger time again .. im gona be a posh student dis year and bring myown ketchup and cheese (with LOADS of ppl queuing its a smart idea haha)

hopefully we have loads of boarders on the trip already up to b4's in kt and lots of skiers aswel...
so i hope skier turn out will be better then last years... 2 people!!!

I'm going for the qaudlethron, Snowboard Slalom, Snow Freestlye, Ski Slalom and Ski Freestyle! So the rest of the colleges can just BRING IT!!!

but only for snowboard slalom not all the others especially them there foreign ones!

if mark can do it without getting a concussion, you know its not that dangerous, (he can injure himself trying to do the simplest things )

I think there is a meeting next week about the varsities, once things are ironed out i'm sure a post will go up detailing what events are open, and where the after party is!

We talked about bringing a tv up at one of the USAI meetings but I think the problem is that theres no reception up in Kilternan.

4.15-4.30 BOARD G.S. SETTING

4.30-5.15 PRACTISE RUN FOR ALL THROUGH BOARD G.S.COURSE FROM BOTTOM OF THE GREEN

5.15-5.45 INTERMEDIATE BOARD G.S.

5.45-6.30 ADVANCED BOARD G.S.

6.30-7.45 DUAL SLALOM

7.45-9.30 FREESTYLE
